Mad Dog, there were worse players on the pitch them him. Benrahama, Fornals, Soucek, and Vlasic. Why the constant moaning about a bang average Masuaka. and the Ref was shocking, had his whistle in his mouth constantly waiting to blow up on the slightest touch, and the time wasting was obvious.

Mex. The reason why is
1. He can't defend and other teams know it. They target him. All the press reports I've read for the game have noted this.
2. He can't attack any more
He can't pass
He can't dribble
He can't cross
He can't shoot (his fluke miskick v Chelsea aside)
3. He's so woefully out of position it draws our midfield AND our defenders out of position to cover for the cunt. Leaving huge gaps

He brings nothing, absolutely nothing to the party.

The "way round it" is locking masuaku in a cupboard somewhere. And starting either longelo, johnson or a fucking traffic cone at left back instead.

The truth is any team with Dawson and diop as centre half with masuaku at left back will concede. A great manager like Ferguson clough etc would find a way around it . Sometimes the only way is to go toe to toe . I'm pretty sure a front 2 of Antonio and Bowen could see off Watford if set up properly but will moyes even attempt it ???.

I had a look, Rice and Benrahma were pressing high, but defender got a pass out to midfield, Masuaku was trying to close down the midfielder who flicked the ball on. Yes could have been better. But Masuaku committed and the midfilder let the ball run as he saw Masuaku closing in. As the CBs, Coufal and Rice were still behind the ball you'd hope they could have stopped it. I'd put more blame on them especially Diop and Dawson. They both had better chances to stop it than Masuaku.
I really struggle to blame it all on Masuaku, I don't understand the focus on him, but there you go, not such a big ordeal.

Mex, the start of that move was a goal kick played short to one of their defenders. Masuaku is MILES out of position going for a ball he was never ever going to win. Rice recognises it when he looks over but it's far too late. The left back is a brainless idiot.

Master that's how teams play when the LB or RB push forward, the CBs and opposite side hold back to cover. You cannot have your LB going forward and at the back at the same time.

Our defense starting from forward midfield, especially Vlasic was poor and not sure why some focus only on criticising Masuaku.

Saying all this, Meerkat, I would also not have Masuaku at LB. I'd prefer to try Longelo. Johnson has done well there, but last game he played LB, I think when Cresswell went off, he didn't look as good as he has done. I'd rather give Longelo another chance. It's a risk, but a good risk with a future, unlike Masuaku who I think has no future at LB. Masuaku has done well going forward, but not recently, his contribution going forward has been poor, mostly poor crosses that give the ball away, which to be fair is similar to Fornals and Benrahma at the moment.

Dawson is decent cover. Diop is decent cover. Having them both playing together over a long period is not so good. Throw in Masuaku and you have the perfect storm.

Manager can remove one of those problems - his choice not to.
Manager can also protect the remaining 2 by adding more protection in front of them.

But as Master said. Why the fuck did Diop rush out in no-mans land, leaving such a gap behind for their steiker to run in?
Yes, because of a cunt of a LB, or the lack of a LB.

The contact you mention outside the box is no foul, the foul is Dawson falling inside... because he is to slow.

The simple fact is with Dawson, Diop and Masuaku innthe team we're not good enough. We cant lose 3 of our best players and compete simple as that.

Absolutely spot on there Pedro. He was stumbling badly before he reached the penalty area and he bundled into Dawson as a result which caused them both to fall into a heap. The initial incident was most definitely outside the box and therefore definitely not a penalty.

I honestly can't see how others can see it any other way - unless they are all complete and utter blind cunts.

Yes Mex , I agree that claims our season is over is OTT , fwiw I think we have to focus on Europe, hopefully Zouma and Cresswell will be back .
Also hope that any Jan signings will be eligible.
Masuaku though is an ongoing problem.
I just think his presence in the team has a negative knock on effect on too many others .
Moyes picked a clearly out of form Fornals to protect him , we are effectively down to 9 men .
It’s not Masuaku fault they he cannot defend , it’s Moyes for playing him when we have options like Johnson and to lesser extent Longelo .

I wathed again, a few times.

I assumed at the time ( never assume it makes an ASS of U and ME) that there was cover around the back, but there wasn't.

Their player was straight through, so it's sending off. Therefore

It's a penalty, * wink wink * if you get what I mean.

So VAR was still wrong, although it kind of helped us out slightly.

Still doesn't excuse the fuck ups of the Arsenal and Burnley games, though.
